LLP VET4 MEDIATION WITH ROMA

BARCELONA 1st kick off meeting

VET4 MEDIATION WITH ROMA is part of the Lifelong Learning Programme Sub-programme POLICY CO-OPERATION AND INNOVATION IN LIFELONG LEARNING (KEY ACTIVITY 1), action KA1 Roma Multilateral Projects.

The project, lead partner Fundación Privada Pere Closa involves several countries and partners:
1. Radovi U Toku (Serbia),
2. Arci Solidarietà Onlus (Italy),
3. Centre de Médiation des Gens du Voyage et des Roms en Wallonie (Belgio),
4. Educational Assistance and Resource Centre “Speranta” (Romania),
5. Fundación Esplai (Spain),
6. Intercultural Institute of Timisoara (Romania).

The project intends to develop a professional, and certificated, Roma Mediation curriculum, in line with the European framework.
During the first phase a research on practices of mediation in every partner country will be carried out.
The 2nd phase will be characterized by the training the will target 125 mediators (25 in every country involved) that will take part into a training course. The training will consists of a f2f meeting and by a learning process to be developed by the e-learning path.

The project Vet4 Roma intends to reconsider the process of Mediation on the base of the experiences of the partners countries. Best practices will be shared with other countries where Roma are living. All the shared experiences, know how and practices would like to positively influence Roma integration.

 The Roma Inclusion Office Supports VET4 Mediation With Roma Project

The Roma Inclusion Office of the Government of Vojvodina, Serbia, has officially supported the implementation of the VET4 Mediation with Roma project. The activities of this Office aim at involving Roma in public life and local communities. The Office is a part of an overall strategy that is being implemented within the Decade of Roma, the Declaration of which has also been signed by the Republic of Serbia. The main aim of the Roma Inclusion Office is to improve the living conditions, level of education, employment and the general situation concerning human rights of the Roma in Vojvodina. The work of the Office is focused on four priority areas of the Decade – education, health, employment and housing.
